E: First off thank you for speaking with me today. You’re the founder of the anthology Just Desserts. What inspired you to create the short story collection?

I run the Secret Hungers Erotic authors group and it was born of one of the many discussions in the group.

E: What process did you take in creating the anthology? How did you find authors?

Every member of my Secret Hungers Erotic Authors Group, who was interested, was invited to participate.  We ended up with 22 total authors published in the final version.

When I had such great interest, I did wonder if I were crazy trying to coordinate so many authors, but in the end was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly things went.  That’s a testament to the professionalism of the authors involved and a result of setting clear expectations.

Since we didn’t take submissions, we had check points and every author understood that if they didn’t provide quality work, it would not be accepted.  Everyone helped each other and engaged professional editors.  I won’t say any of it was easy, everyone worked very hard, but there was a tremendous commitment on the part of everyone who participated.

E: What advice would you tell any authors looking to create their own anthology?

Look for a group as professional as this one, and people who are willing to take feedback.  And most of all, have a solid plan with clear expectations.

E: Do you plan on creating anymore anthologies in the future?

Not at this time.  But I won’t rule it out in the future.

E: Do you have any favorite story in Just Desserts?

🙂  All of them.

E: You’re an author yourself. What kind of personal projects do you have going on right now? Anything that we can look forward to seeing from you specifically?

I’m currently working on the second book in the Good Doctor Trilogy – Surviving Doctor Vincent.

I just finished working with Erin deWard and Noah Michael Levine to produce Curing Doctor Vincent as an audiobook.  It’s a killer performance.

E: Lastly, do you have any pearls of wisdom you’d like to share with our readers? Any advice for aspiring writers who are trying to break into the market?

  • Don’t under value marketing – people have to know the book exits to buy it.

  • Love your fellow authors.

  • Appreciate your readers.
